Mission Statement:

The mission and purpose of the South Central Middle School Student Council is to inspire and empower others to make positive changes personally and socially.  To work together to reach common goals by participating in a number of projects and activities in the areas of:  Service, School Spirit, Citizenship, Leadership, Education, and Fundraising.  We will encourage each other to take risks through participating in leadership, realizing each individual possesses strengths to share, welcoming differences and diversity, showing we all play a small part in the big picture, learn to Live, Learn, and Leave a Legacy. 





Student Council is composed of students whose primary roles are:
  • To encourage leadership through service.
  • To promote responsibility.
  • To plan and organize activities and projects which advance the social and civic development of the student body.
  • To encourage school spirit and an attitude of cooperation between the faculty, administration, and student body.





Goals for Student Council:

Activities Student Council is involved in include:
  • Welcome Back Bags for teachers and staff
  • Adopt-a-Family where SC members along with their peers raise money for families in our area during the Christmas season.
  • The Behavior Reward Dance at the end of 2nd quarter.
  • The American Red Cross Blood Drive
  • Teacher Appreciation Week gifts
  • Working the concessions stand at multiple school sporting events throughout the year.
  • Other fundraising activities throughout the year.
